国際ロータリーは、世界に約35,600クラブ、会員数は約122万人の実業人や専門職業人から構成されており人道的奉仕活動や職業上の高い倫理感の下、世界平和へ向けて支援している団体です。
我が横浜旭ロータリークラブは1970年(昭和45年)1月13日に横浜保土ヶ谷ロータリークラブのアディショナルクラブとしてチャーターメンバー26名によって設立され、同年1月19日に国際ロータリーより正式加盟、承認を受けました。
　1969年(昭和44年)10月1日保土ヶ谷区から分区し旭区が誕生。その3ヶ月後に当クラブが設立されたことになります。
　区内には約11万世帯、約25万人の方々がお住まいです。動物園「ズーラシア」(平成11年開園)や大池こども自然公園等自然に親しむ設備も多く所在します。
　我々ロータリアンは職業、宗教、人種の枠を越えて、お互いの親睦を第一とし、社会に奉仕する非営利団体です。そして一年を通じて色々な分野での奉仕活動を行っています。

Since our Club's founding in 1970, The Rotary Club of Yokohama Asahi has been dedicated our service to the community, Asahi Ward and Yokohama City. We gather at weekly meetings and other functions to fulfill our commitment to the Rotarian ideals of friendship, fellowship, and service to others.
